alright well i was riding behind my friend on some backroads the other night... and my car sits really low for some reason anyway and sometimes bottoms out... but this time i hit a pothole goin about 45 or 50 and i heard the worst vibrating noise ive ever heard... so i take the car home and get under it to check it out... we replaced the u joints on the driveshaft just because i had play in it, replaced the tranny mount cuz it was ripped in half... and now we are clueless because it is still doin it... it is a vibrating sound against the passengers side floorboard, but it goes away when you put weight on the car, but you can feel it rubbing against the floorboard when you stand outside the car, and it is a noticible sound inside with two people in the car, but outside its hardly noticible.... and i looked to see if my exhaust was rubbin and i cant see it hitting anything... so if anyone has any ideas as to what it would be let me know please!
thanks

What does it sound like?? Tinny and rattling or other?

well its more of a rubbing noise really... and its weird because now its starting to do it with the starter when i start the car... and it doesnt really do it too loud if im in park or neutral, although you can barely hear it sometimes... but when i put in in reverse and start backing up its the worst... and in drive it does it sometimes... and i tried bending the exhaust away from anything that looked even remotely close and it did nothing... also replaced the driveshaft u joints and tranny mount... and also changed the oil just to make sure there wasnt any metal in it and cuz it needed changed anyway...

You moved the dust pan covering the torque converter i bet. I pulled up into some deep gravel one time and it sounded like my car spun a bearing. I bet your flywheel is scrubbing against it.

That's a damn fine guess. I thought I had a bad something one time and I had just broke my flywheel and it was clattering.

well i took the dust cover off and drove with it and it still does it...
and it wasnt bent or scratched or anything..
i took it to one of my friends that is a mechanic today though and he said that it looks and sounds to him like i broke a motor mount... so i guess that is next on my agenda, and after i get that fixed ill see what happens from there

so,did you find out what causes the vibration??

well we are replacin the motor mounts this saturday... and im guessing thats what it is because the passenger side raises up significantly when the car is under a load with the brakes applied... and it shakes pretty badly.. so im hopin that is the cause and all will be alright afterwards
