My quest my for one of a kind blacked out lt1 lights

ok i bought my car and it had lt1 taillights on it that were cracked and chipped. with 61.90 invested and the price of the adhesive tape as well as the sealer i think its a good finish fro my first ever project for a car. Post away about your remarks and what you think.
well here is a right up of my light project with my lt1 taillights
first a list of the things you need to do this:
1. dremel tool just in case
2. 3m adhesive double sided tape
3. blackout covers (got mine from summit in 2 days for 61.90)
4. Not necessary but black silicone
5. LT1 taillights
6. Alcohol wipes
i bought the car with the lt1 lights like this

here are the steps i had to do
1. the reflector on the bottom remove it. there are like three or four tabs holding it in also some glue. here is a picture of what oen of the holding tabs mount look like

or you can do it like me the stupid way and break them

2. place the lights into a over and bake them to get the glue holding the clear (in my case cracked) cover to start to release
3.peal the clear plastic off. around the reflect area you will need to either use a dremel tool to cut it even with the light or pull it completely out.
4. use the dremel tool to cut the middle of the lights out (the black looking lines in the middle)

5. now get your blackout covers and clean them with the alcohol wipes and the light surface.

6. place some of the 3m adhesive tape on the taillight i marked in yellow were i put my tape but do not peal the side of the tape that will be pressed against the cover yet (also i put some black silicone around the edge to try and seal the cover to the lens so water wont try to get in)

7.align the covers before you press them onto the lights so you do not screw up.
8. press the covers down onto the lights and but some type on weight onto them to ensure that you are fully sealed everywhere if you put down the silicone or to make sure you fully got all the tape to grab hold of the cover
9. go outside put them on your car and your are done here is what mine look like cannot get a picture with the lights on because my car is not in running order and doesn't have a battery in it.

Looks good! But what's the different procedure that you did that others didn't? Sorry, I don't have a TA so I'm not familiar with their covers, I just VHT'd my Z's tail lights. Keep up the good work, you'll find many little, but very rewarding, projects you can do with these cars.

I think he seperated the stock outter lense with the blackouts....

So what happens when the inside of the covers get dirty? Thats why I ditched my covers was because I had to take the taillamps out each time I washed my car

the lt1 tailights that were on it were cracked to hell an back so i just siliiconed them to it and used the adhesivve tap eto hold it the silicone shoudl keep all the dust out hopefully
