I am getting really close to wrapping up my project, so I wanted to share some progress pictures. It started off as a cam and tranny swap, but seemed to take a never ending turn into a full car overhaul.

Here are some pics of my most recent completed projects!

For reference :
Spohn Upper A-arms
Spohn Lower A-arms
UMI K-member
QA1 Double adjustable shocks
Stock springs w/ BMR spring cups
LS1 Spindles powder-coated black
Moog tie rods

how many miles on your car? After all that work why not spend an extra $200 and replace the front hubs? hehe... or atleast paint it?

The LS1 rear I got was from a six speed 2000 WS6. Only 43,000 miles! I wanted it because of the LS1 brakes and because the 98 and later rear ends have a much better posi unit.

I didn't bother with the hub assembly because the ones I picked up with the spindles were still in very good shape. (Mechanically) I wasn't sure if I could powder-coat them because of the bearings. I didn't want to cook the bearings or the grease since they are sealed.

Very nice suspension setup, and dont worry about the simple project turned complete overhaul. Nobody else on this site has any self control when it comes to modding either :D

Seeing yours makes me wish I went with the complete adjustable setup, my TA isnt and my LCAs arent. Oh well, next project will be more track oriented so the adjustable stuff will be all over the place.

Looks good. I am hoping to be pulling the wheels off the ground with my current build, so I better make the under side look pretty.
I have a UMI set up(k-member, upper and lower adjustable arms). Curious as to how you set up your upper and lower arms. I set mine by duplicating, as best as I could, the stock pieces. My lower arms were easy, but the upper arms seemed to be a little bit different . The stock pieces had a bit of a curve in them and the UMI pieces were straight. Your Spohn uppers look like my UMI pieces. How did you adjust your pieces? Obviously, we'll need to get them aligned but we need a good starting point.

My upper arms are not adjustable. I didn't really see the point in getting the adjustable versions mainly because all of the alignment adjustments are made to the lower a-arm.

For now I just have the lower arms set to the middle position. The UMI K-member has the longer adjustment slots, so I know no matter how hard I try I will not be able to get things just right. I plan to have it towed to the alignment shop so that I do not screw anything up.

Looks great, I hope to be in your shoes this winter :) I'm pulling my motor again to go through the engine bay, remove the heater box in the engine bay, weld in some holes do the wire tuck and paint everything. But I hope to get some good mods in too LOL hopefully 9", Alternator relocation bracket, valve covers, new LTs LOL I could go on for days but my wallet won't allow that

Keep the pics coming and how do you like the UMI K member?

The K-member is probably the most well built piece that I bought. The twin tube design puts me at ease knowing that it is going to be able to take some abuse. No more alignment guys telling me "You need this and you need to buy that to properly align your car..." With the big slots on the lower a-arm mounts, I should never run out of adjustablity options.

I also just put in my order for the C5 conversion braided brake lines. So I'll have some final pics up in the next week or so with the front brakes all finished.

HAHA no kidding right, most people (from what I have seen) don't buy the UMI k member because of the twin tube design and that it weighs too much. Well the roads around here are less than perfect and I have seen too many single tube K members break, so thats the reason I'm buying one. Hopefully I'll have enough money left over to afford it LOL

How about I just go out and rip off all of my stock stuff and trade you OP :secret: you can keep the QA1s though. J/K but not really I'll even pay shipping both ways :D What are your plans for the car? Drag racing, road racing? Or just a badass suspension for the street?

Sinister95Z

I mainly just wanted a badass suspension for the street, but since we just bought a third car I can save the Z for the track and street romps. No more DD for the Camaro!

I hate to say it because it hurts a little bit when I have to admit to things like this. There is well over $2,000 in just the front suspension alone.

I got mine from a sale @ byunspeed.com. UMI K-member with upper and lower tubular a-arms for $950 shipped.
I had shocks I had bought 3 years before and Eibach drag kit from 3 years before that I finally got around to install. I don't remember what I paid for all of that. The QA1 are better than what I have(AGX adjustable)

That was a really good sale! Just my upper and lower a-arms cost $650 shipped. I got them second hand but still brand new in the package. By going second hand, I pretty much got the chromoly option for free.

The prices were not posted and I had to call for pricing. Normally I hate that cause they always try to rope you in but the deal was too good to pass up.
