Forgive me for being an moron, but what does that part do ? I`m guessing it direct wires a fuel pump and a switch turns it on. When would you use this application ?

It stabilizes the pump voltage, most LTx cars stock or aftermarket pumps will actually run at a little less voltage than desired (usually because the pump is older). So, if you use this kit it hotwires the power lead directly to the alternator increasing/stabilizing the voltage.
