just like the title says. the previous owner had some fun in this car and has left black tire residue on the rear bumper. any way to get rid of this?

try some goof off... be sparing with it as I think it can be bad for the paint in direct sunlight or in large amounts.

Bug & Tar remover should do it

I believe that Summit and Jegs sell some stuff that you apply like a wax but it lets you simply wipe off the burnout residue and chunks.

PAM cooking spray works great too, and is alot cheaper.

as for the stuff on there, bug and tar remover or Orange Goof Off. Try to stay away from anything with solvents/alcohol/thinners in them

shit.... I use laquer thinner to clean EVERYTHING. You just gotta know how to use it.

Either lacquer thinner or wax and grease remover will get it off. And keeping it good and waxed can help prevent it from sticking so bad

I know how to use it, but no need to. A little elbow grease and a good cleaner go a long way to not screwing up a decent paint job.

I use a stiff brass brush and most of it comes out quite quickly !

Go grab some Bug ang Tar remover. The stuff works great. I used to clean cars that raced at watkins glen, and you wouldnt believe some of the places that I would have to take rubber off them!

Heres an example for you.. Bugs and rubber being thrown at a bumper at 150+mph!

Not very pretty... But after some scrubbing with a microfiber towel and some bar and tar remover... It cleaned up nice!

The trick with Bug and Tar remover is to let it sit on the area for a few minutes. It will just eat away at rubber and make it come off very easily!

Pam or better yet pledge before...bug and tar after if needed! Can't go wrong.

wd-40 or gas takes it right off.
