Well Ive been pretty upset at how my car was 60ft'n so I snatched up a pair of SS rims and some Nitto 315/35/17 DRs for the track! I paid $200 for them DRs still have decent tread. Hope they help alot. LOL I dont have to hope..I know it will help!!!!
Ill try and get back to the track tomorrow and get some real times. So far my best pass was a 2.24 60ft 13.90 1/4th at 101.5 mph.

Anyone local to me, want to trade the SS rims for some WS6 rims?

Just ride the clutch and you could probably squeeze a deep 1.90.. putting you somewhere in the 13.50-60s!

nice deal on the rims and tires man, they should help bigtime getting them 60's lower.

Make sire you do a decent burnout with them. Nittos are great on the street but for some reson they dont hook to well at the track unless you do a pro mod burnout. ;)

I was getting similar 60's. Consistant 2.2's - 2.3's.

I was running 14.1 @ 101 though :face_shocked:.

It needed some new tires pretty badly.

I second that and keep them off the cold floor this winter or they will crack...trust me.

So what'd it end up picking up? .4? .5? Not bad for $200 :D

Dont slip the clutch, dump the bitch if you have the suspension for it

Nice, sometimes it wont even take that much. You will find your sweet spot.

Hows the traction? Your running DRs now right?

AChotrod

yes. 315/35/17 Nitto DRs It hooks and bogs at the start and spins on the 2nd and 3rd shift you can hear and see it in the vids

Absolute best way for fastes 60ft time would be get suspension/sticky tire setup so you can just drop the clutch at a medium to high RPM and have it bite not bog or spin. This will also be the most harsh on your 10 bolt, but I am guessing from your ET's that you are not modded enough to really worry about rear end damage without going to slicks anyways.

Past that, the best way is to NOT drop the clutch, but to give the car more and more gas as you let up the clutch pedal more and more until you are all the way into the gas and have the clutch fully engaged. This process should take .5 to 1 second. It is much easier on your rear, and can still yeild very fast 60 ft times.

With either approach, you definatly need a much more agressive burnout than you were doing. A burnout similar to this Mustang is what you should be doing;

Also, make sure you are not running too much tire pressure. DR's should be 18-22 psi for the 1/4.

The first couple burn out were John force style the vids were basically back to back runs after the tires were all ready sticky. Im running 35# in the front and 18 rear. Tried slipping the clutch with The F1s on and it would only go 2.2s and have great traction. If you dumped the clutch it would just spinn like crazy. With the DRs its taking 3k launches dropping the clutch and only going 2.0-2.1s.
Only power mod is a B&B catback. Its got a few suspension mods and the DRs on stock 3.42s. Thats why I didnt leave bouncing of the limiter.
Might see the track one more time this year then it going under the knife this winter.
I plan on skipping 12s all together NA

F-bodies are not the easiest to launch, but if you are hooking while dumping it at 3,000 RPM, then you've got a more potential 60 ft time than 2.0's IMO.

I've done 1.66 in my 614 RWHP Camaro and it is a M6 (granted that was on slicks though).

I think a 2.0/ 13.5@ 103+ is pretty good for a catback car. Yes I could of left higher and got a 1.9 or better, but want to save the rear end for now. All my money is going into the motor first. Then the rear.
At 3000 grand it hooks hard and slightly bogs then picks up. I would have tried 3500 but ran out of time and havent gone back yet.

I would say that is good for sure. The best time I ran with a stock setup with a catback is 14.001 with a 2.18 60'. I want to keep hitting the track so I can practice those launches!
