Torqhead
Anyone know anything more about the LS1 pcm conversion offered by Torqhead? It looked like a nice clean kit.

It's more expensive than EFI connections kit and does the same thing but is plug and play.

More expensive than EFI connection where did you come up with that.
EFI connections: Base kit (need a 96/97 cover) $540, harness $850 and pcm $200 total $1590 still need coils, wires and brackets
TorqHead kit $1050 w/o coils or $1550 with coils, wires and brackets

You can get a 411 pcm on eBay for $50 last time I checked. I scored one in a junkyard for $20 out of a 350 vortec van.
You can repin the harness yourself with the BP DIY kit for $100 or just gut a junkyard harness and repin for next to nothing.
I sold my obd2 timing cover for $80 when I went with the TPIS one.
The deals are out there, you just have to look.

Agreed but I would call what you describe a DIY 24x kit not a EFI connection kit.

A lot of people go the DIY route. A fancy reconditioned harness from BP or EFI or whoever isn't absolutely necessary.
The TH system seems cool but I'm still on the fence about externally mounted sensors. Would have to keep an eye on them for road grime.96Z M6, ERE-383 #60, AFR 210s, LE cam, 9", Procharger D1, ???whp

the Torqhead kits are not readily available yet...there will be some good information out for them very soon. I would not purchase the EFi kit until then.

And for the guys that only drive these cars, in nice weather, wont have to worry about the road grime, debris, etc. The TH kit, is more user friendly, and install time SHOULD be less.

I'm about $300 in the hole for my 24x kit but I sold off a few things for a few hundred to get my money back. 24x can be done EASILY for around a grand. The EFI piece is 450, diy kit from BP is 100, member here is selling a 9697 timing cover for 100. You can get coils and pcm for 100-150.
I do like the idea of the torqhead. I'm not knocking it.
