Getting ready for the shootout!
Quick intro, I have a 1980 Malibu Classic with a carb'd 355 that i've had for 16 years. It took me 13 years to get it to the track. Long story. So I take it up, and it runs like shit. I did happen to be fortunate enough to get an LT1 from a gentlemen who my friends steered towards me. It came out of a '94 Z28 6-speed car that the guy took the transmission out of. "73,000 miles on it", he says. "Engine, harness, computer, hell it's even got a BBK throttle body". "How much?" I asked, not knowing what I was getting myself into. "I just want to clean out my shop so, $500?" I have no idea why, but I hesitated. My friend said "If you don't buy it, i'm going to". So I bit the bullet and my great friend from Certified Performance was kind enough to go pick the engine up, and loan me the money to pay for it. I DID pay him back. He picked it up and sent me some pics. It's been sitting in his shop since last July. We're starting on the swap August 30th. Hopefully it's possible to do it in 1 day. WISH US LUCK!

abeane4, you're always helpful. Moral support if nothing else. Watch it though, I might try taking that bracket champ title this year.
