Nice work. Are you running a carb?

Does that milling machine have excessive play on the lead screw? There should be a adjustment nut that will allow you to take out the play. Also if the bit it chattering, you can get a variable flute end mill that will cut really well and won't start vibrating.

uhm, okay @noice there isnt any excessive play, the reason why it looks rough is because we were running it by hand along the runners, there is no play whatsoever in this machine, it was just the user lol. Yes im going carbed @BIG CAT and i do have a short 20 sec video of just milling, thats about it @SexyTransAm

I wasn't talking about the fact that you were running it by hand, looking at the flat cut that you made seems there is a little chatter. Could just be me seeing imaginary things on the pictures.

Fast cuts and cutting on the side of the end mill vs face.

Looks cool though, wish I had a mill at home instead of relying on the one at work. That has some serious endplay in it

painted vic jr 1.jpgpainted vic jr 2.jpgbolted on vic jr.jpgtiming cover.jpgkeyed hub.jpgpointer 1.jpgpointer 2.jpgso i finished the intake, i forgot to take pictures of it but we made washers on the lathe at 12 degrees so that the bolts sit flush on the intake. im real proud of how it came out. then i had to notch the hub and add a key to the crank so that itll keep time and not slip on me. as for the timing cover i just ordered a freeze plug that was the same size as the seal that went in there for the opti and pressed it in, then lastly i built a pointer. lots left to go, so ill keep updating
