I need some LTXtech "therapy."

I had initially started whining about this in BACON BITES, however, I figured I would start a thread specific for it, so people could focus on or avoid my whining without stumbling across it. I guess for the most part, I just need to vent.

I'm having some serious issues at work lately... but this time, it is NOT with work or the bs about my injury, but with, the cases . Ive whined about this before... but i think these investigations (sex assault on kids) are starting to destroy my health .... badly .

They are the most "satisfying" cases to close.... but the investigations are physically and mentally KICKING MY ASS.... I'd rather go rounds with TYSON!!!!


This week alone... a 5 year old victimized by her 78 year old grandfather...... As I am ready to pounce with the warrant... he has escaped to INDIA. FUCK!

While working on research to see what extradition treaties the US has with INDIA, I get an 11 year old niece victimized by her uncle....

AND THAT IS JUST SINCE MONDAY!!!!

It's a sad world we live in, and I think it's a lot more common than we could ever imagine. I noticed that in the past couple weeks there's been two separate news articles for the same school in the city I used to work in (Warren, MI) where an ex-police officer who did security in schools is being charged with sexually assaulting a 16 year old, and then a week or so later a 24 year old basketball coach was arrested for having sex with a different 16 year old. Dumb people. On the flip side, at least the 16 year old's in my example aren't victims like what you're talking about -- those kids are way too young and are DEFINITELY victims. I hope they're able to come to terms with what happened to them. Hopefully the 5 year old is young enough that they won't have any memory of it when they get older?

I had a friend that was on the Predator task force back in the dawn of the internet. The stuff he had to see on a daily basis made him a different person. Having 2 kids has def changed my outlook on things and that kind of stuff is reprehensible. I do believe it is a sickness and people need to be caught, prosecuted, and cured. I did some research a few years back on all types of sexual abuse, adults and minors, and it seemed that the cases against minors was mostly by close family and the abuser was usually male (there were a few female ones) that were schizophrenic, bi-polar, or addicts and a good percentage were unemployed and in lower socio-economic status. Most times it went on till the minor became an adult and an alarming amount of the now adult victims were being victimized still. It wasn’t until a few kids started coming forward and LEA got better with tracking stuff on the web that a lot of abusers started getting caught. I can imagine what you are going through because during my research i read stuff that would make you want to throw up. It is one of the reasons in went into Engineering and got out of journalism. All i can say Larry is to try to look at the good in the world as much as you can.. it is hard.

FYI, I am getting ready to go serve a search warrant on the home of the family of the 5 year old victim......

After all they have been through, I have to go and dishevel their home so that I can see if there is any evidence left behind by the actor that puts him and the 5 year old "inappropriatly" together.

No, I did not need a search warrant... its more of a CYA thing so that if I ever do arrest this guy, he can not get my evidence (if I find anything) tossed out of court because he had a legal right to privacy.....

Just covering all the bases and doing my job the best I can...but in the back of my mind, I know that every bit of contact with me, keeps this family from moving forward....

I know the exact feeling I have been a mp for about 6.5 years now and worked with CID for a year. I was the first responder for a case where a 2 year old was sexually assaulted with a broom stick by one of the local baby sitters (an army wife). It took every ounce of my will to not go to the lady's house kick down the door and give her what she deserves. It was also really hard having to do follow ups with victims when there were no real new leads or definitive answers to give them. Any variation of sexual crimes are tough but the ones I have worked and assisted on that involved children I will never be able to forget. and as jaysz2893 said hunt the good stuff the world is a tough place and we as human seem to focus on more of the bad stuff that happens everyday and being law enforcement or in investigations we unfortunately have to deal with these evils every single day first hand which is why it is very important to keep a positive outlook.

I know this may be a touchy subject, but I believe in the death penalty...and when you are on death row it needs to be a somewhat fast process instead of using tax dollars watching TV for 10 years.

People like child molesters and rapists should be the first ones on the list.

Like I said, you all may have different feelings and disagree, but that's how I feel

My deepest respect to all first responders that deal with this. Popo, you didn't do it! Your there doing your best to pick up the pieces afterward, your awareness of the impact will only lead to the best result possible. That's a heavy load to carry in a sick world. Good that you are talking about it, you need to come to terms or it will eat you up. Evil men succeed because good men do nothing. Thank you for what you do.
