Thread: roots superchargers

    I never really understood the passion for a roots style blower. I guess on the pluss side you get boost faster than a centrifugal style blower and there is no lag like in a turbo. However, its a heat soaking monster right in the place you need heat the least, and is the least effecient way of making boost all together. Personally I much prefer the scream of a powerful blower car like this;

    I would be interested in a roots blower if I was interested in superchargers simply because a 4th gen procharger or similar supercharger kit usually won't work in a 3rd gen because the kit will hit the steering, frame, or something like that.

    You can always make room man. Besides that I am quite sure I have seen Prochargers under the hood of 3rd gens before, but I could be wrong...
