    Default 68 lemans new project….

Looks rough, but frame is solid, it’s all there and it even runs!!!! Wife bought it for me for our 11th (steel) anniversary! She won’t let me do an lt1 swap, as my jag scares her! Lol so it will stay with the Pontiac 350, but get an intake and carb swap ( it’s just a 2 bbl now)C33C4BDB-4010-4CC0-B42A-CF0ABD0F76E2.jpegwill upload more pics later, poor signal where I am

Got to play a little! It’s got the original 350 2 bbl motor with 47 heads, trans is a th 400 not the original power glide! Currently sanding to see where the metal stops and bondo starts!! So much sanding!!! Finding out where the metal ends and rust/ bondo starts!!!!! Not nearly as bad as I thought, most of bondo appears to be parking lot dent repair. Rust is in usual places, behind all the wheels way down low and above the rear wheel arches on both rear wheels, floors are decent with only rust holes on drivers floor and under rear seat pan again on drivers side.1D3A274B-1E12-4A5B-8BE8-414037A92A7A.jpeg09985CD1-4DEE-470D-B76D-8125DFA0A703.jpegEC3B6036-45B6-46EE-9293-8028DD0C007C.jpegF1CC7D19-76E6-4996-9FB1-ADDB5B969F2C.jpeg93A3CFF8-9D2A-41CF-8F73-4C02E88868B9.jpegBC91EC5F-F135-421F-9E02-6BF249EAB29A.jpeg

Been bouncing between sanding and checking electrical circuits, so far ever seems to work (except clock, it ran for about 3 mins when I goes battery up then stopped) even the pump for the top works! ( but it doesn’t move )I can see air bubbles in the hydraulic lines to the rams, and line to right ram is all taped up! Oh and wipers don’t work, relay under hood clicks, but motor just gets hot! I currently have dash out to chase more wires, but it all seems good!!! Think I may have gotten a true diamond in the rough!! Lol

Oh, almost forgot, had it running in garage the other day, trying to burn out some of the old gas ( what a ghastly smell that made) and it sound anemic compared to the lt1 in the jag!!!!

Todays update!! Brakes… or lack therefore!!!! Rear brake line has been severed beneath the hole in the drivers floor, and crimped shut!!! So no rear brakes at all, replacing everything from master cylinder all the way to the rear wheels, all new lines, wheels cylinders, shoes, drums etc! I want to be able to turn car around in garage to access other side!! But then this!!!!!BE8CE285-057E-4A13-AA79-E79A94E18510.jpeg3645E64A-B985-4226-909F-1AF081C15C55.jpeg it took forever to get that drum off!!!!

Still no brakes!!! As soon as I went to bleed them, a front metal line blew out! I have ordered a front disk conversion, but just like everything else these days, it’s back ordered, should be here end of July! So for now car is on Dollie’s, so I can push it around to get access, although no progress has been made as work as gone nuts so not getting home til late and weekends are spent with My daughter that just finished her first year of college but leaves again next Wednesday to study abroad!
