The pics were taken late 2009/early 2010, and the final one was from early 2011 as I changed the engine "dress-up" early that year. I will post most pics I have as some that aren't really necessary for the build thread. I have 443 pics but not all will be posted. If I find more engine build ones tomorrow I will post as it's late here and I have much work to accomplish tomorrow.

The other cars pictured were my 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 4 door and 1971 GMC stepside truck which have been sold off. I switched from Proform to Harland Sharp rockers the next year and you could hear a dramatic difference in sound. The engine was bored 30 over and had an Eagle Specialties full floating rotating assembly. The camshaft was an Edelbrock but switched to a Lunati VooDoo 262 shortly after the engine was installed. When I picked up the engine from the machine shop it was snowing so I backed the truck up to my door and off loaded it into my bed room next to my bed so that it wouldn't rust.

If you ever worked on a C3 Corvette then you know the trailing arms were notorious for seized bushings were the attachment bolt/toe shims go causing issues when alignment time comes. I had to get a sawzall and cut the bolt inside the frame pocket to get the trailing arm out. Also you must drill the flare out on the bushing sleeve in order to get the bushing out, and then use a special tool to flare it once installed in the trailing arm. The springs, all brake calipers, rotors, hoses, and other components had been replaced prior to this. Now my goal is to remove all this, install it on my brothers 1974 Corvette, and put the 1996 Corvette parts in its place.

I worked on diesel and gas, but now work as pesticide for department of Army(for a contractor). I usually get all the shop manuals and special tools for any project car so that I am well equipped when working. My Corvette was my first engine rebuild and it went very well, heck the guy that bought the engine has driven it all over the country and loves the way it was built. The suspension install from the 96 will have questions as I am still learning lots on fabrication. I can mig weld but am wanting to learn stick and tig as well.

stick is just mig without gas man. more like brazing. tig is a fine art. good luck with the build and I will be following it, sounds really cool

I have stick welded once many years ago and sold my tig rig since I didn't have a tig machine. I have lots of work and some will be challenging but fun as I like a challenge. Will post a few pictures tonight if the next stage and the Z28 LT1 that I originally bought for the swap before getting all the Corvette stuff.

Will start posting more pics tomorrow. Has been a very crazy year with many unexpected things. Having another baby so the Corvette project is delayed yet again. Been working on my 93 ZJ Jeep as it is now at my house. Hopefully soon I can get a building built and put my Corvette in it to start the mockup process. Am going to take the body off and take them frame to Texas to Corvette Corrections so they can put the 96 Corvette K-member in my 72 so that all steering and suspension parts will bolt up like factory.
