    Default Motorcycle

Just before my dad got sick I was in a MSF class & obtained my motorcycle license.

I never rode before. After I got my dad squared away I started looking for something that, if I dropped or wanted to get rid of, wouldn't cost me much. Or if crashed then whatever.

I'm more of a cruiser type, not interested in the crotch-rockets. Got lucky & found something cheap, cool and I love it- the bike from CHIPS. It's a 93 Kawasaki KZ1000P.

That's cool, I love air-cooled literbikes. I have an 81 XS1100 and it's a straight line rocket, yours is probably the same.

Nice picture with Estrada. You'll be #2 in line, someone at work called dibs first.

I was originally going to buy a super magna, but the owner said it wouldn't be a good first bike for me because it had carburetor problems that were cascading into other problems. I was diggin' that exhaust but glad I didn't get it because of what I have now.

I don't ride as much as I want, when I do ride I see people eating, reading, fumbling & everything else while driving. Even saw a guy getting 'road head'. I stayed behind & away from that car. So I ride when I'm mentally prepped to & when it's below 85.

Fastest I've gone is 70 & I didn't have to twist my wrist much at all to get there, that's good enough for me. Old reviews say the bike will get you to 50 in first gear & that is true.

When I wear my khaki riding pants & black jacket traffic does what it does when behind a police car, that's fine with me, keeps em away.

All I needed for inspection was new tires & a few squirts of wd40 to get my hazard switch back to life.

Nice looking bike! Chips always was a really cool show. Nice picture Popo! I've been riding for 14 years. I'm a cruiser guy myself as well. If I want to go fast I'll go fast in my car. I stay away from crotch rockets so I don't end up dead because I wouldn't be able to resist the urge. I ride my bike more than I drive my car and way more than I drive my truck. Most of the guys at work think I'm crazy when it's 20 deg outside and I'm still riding. Now that is has gotten rather hot I've been in the car more, it has A/C.

I remember those bikes from my younger days. I preferred sport bikes till I broke my back. Now I ride a power cruiser. I've seen 132 on my vtx 1800.

I started riding in 1996... always been a crotch rocket guy. After a back injury at work... i started riding alot less... i used to drag race my bike... it was a stretched and slammed zx12r, and it was a beast. Made 189.9 hp to the rear wheel and I ran low 10s, high 9s.

As time went on and with the injury, I had it pretty much parked. Being a police officer and always watching people drive poorly, as well as my share of investigating fatal motor crashes, Im not ashamed to say, I lost my nerve to ride... it just scared me 2 much.

Sold the bike and bought my vette as my replacement...

The blue one was my 1st bike. After doing the moto safety course in 96... I picked up a new Yamaha YZF 600r. I put 25k on that thing till 2002.

2002, I bought my brand new zx-12r. She had some miles, but many of them were one quarter mile at a time...

Finally, having my moto license still comes in handy as I impounded this Hayabusa and the tow truck guy didnt wanna damage it... so I rode it about 10 miles to impound. That was fun in full uniform with no helmet. Lol.

Oh... and btw... fastest Ive been on a bike is 185mph... shhhh.
