Solid Motor Mounts
Building my car right now, I need to replace the motor mounts. I was planning on running poly, but I am interested using solids instead. The car is definetlty never going to be a daily driver again, but it will still have most of the interior bits. The car is a 4th gen with an LT1. For now it will be a cam/bolt-ons engine. I don't mind the extra vibrations as long as it's not drastically harsher than poly mounts. I do like the extra clearance and the reduced weight. And also the more direct engine response is helping make me consider them more.
What are you guys running, and what are your thoughts? I need to find a set that does not change the motor height. I want the motor to stay in the stock location. Which ones would offer me that? And lastly, if anyone has a set for sale, I would likely buy them haha. Thanks guys.

I like mine, no issues with vibe but my cam is tame.

I've got solid mounts with my tubular K and a BTR stage 3 cam and haven't had any problems. I've never heard of any problems unless you use solid engine AND trans. I'm running a Energy Suspension poly trans mount so it can still move a little if need be.

IMHO the ES polly mounts and rubber tranny mount are a good combo....

Supporting Memberthe preload plate isn't needed, and whacks the driveline angles up. which then in turn causes vibration. energy makes a correct bushing now that's only for 3rd and 4th gen fbodies, not the standard gm mount that advance auto carries

Thanks @Tubby Z28 for the info on energy mount cause ever sincerely hope I installed the Polly I got from NAPA I've had a vibration. And it did look like a gm mount. Sorry for butting in.
