    Default Which ati super damper?

    Putting together a LT1 383 stroker using forged eagle rotating assembly. Will ATI superdampner 917272 work for my application?
    Do sizes only affect belt length and accessory drive speed?
    Aluminum better than steel?

    That's the part # for Firebird. 10% underdrive. You use the shorter belt. Dayco # 5060625

    I would suggest going with steele stock size damper. part#917270
    1994 Camaro Z-28 M6

    On a budget build, i have access to the one posted above for $200 used. What benefits would i see going stock sized steel, over the 10% reduction and aluminum?

    Sounds good, but not sure if I should pick this one up for $200 and change it down the line later. I hardly ever see these things go up for sale used or at a decent price.

    There isnt enough power gain in the reduced size.

    If you found the 10% underdrive ATI for $200 and it isn't beat to shiat...buy it.

    I have the Aluminum 10% underdrive one now for 10 years. 100's of 1/4 mi passes on it. Street/Strip car.

    Supposedly the 10% underdrive is good for +10hp...YMMV

    Well if your changing sure get the underdrive . You can brag about it. And I know your changeing to external dampening, so yes go for it. I just thought Id chime in just in case others reading are thinking. The cost ver hp increase not worth it IMO.
    And whos they? +10hp? Probably 1 or 2 .

    for a stock motor the ATI is beneficial but more so for built motors, especially internally balanced motors, that will see higher RPM use vs stock.

    The 10% underdrive versions do reduce parasitic loss from the engine accessory's ( alt, PS, etc) thus "releasing" more HP beyond the gains a ATI damper brings to the table

    ATI dampers are predominant on motors in just about every motorsport class racing
