Help
I'm new to this. So please help me out. I got a 94 z28 a4 all bone stock. All the fbodies in my area are full of ls1. And everyone that I know say they are a bunch of crap. Well I want to prove them wrong. I want to know how I can make this car a easy high 10 all motor. Plz anything helps.

So ur saying ls people are calling ur lt1 crap? Get used to it... they seem to ALL act like that. Feeling that the LS was touched by the hamd of GOD.
Its true that its probably cheaper and easier to make an LS faster... but why wouldnt it be...the aftermarket supports the hell out of that platform.
We are old and basically the red headed step child.
U wanna go fast and make an ET ur goal, is fine... but its going to put alot of the weight of those ETs on ur ability to drive...
Of course... ur gonna need to make more power... ir gonna need better suspension, and losing some weight will always help as well.
Let me start by saying, I had a 602hp camaro. I bet it never wouldve gone 10s... but I didnt build it to just go straight.
It made more than enough power to do it, but my suspension was set up to go left and right as good or better than a c4 vette (first vette to pull 1g on the skid pad).
With that being said... had i set the suspension up for drag racing... the tires... and swapped out the 6spd for a built auto... Im very confident it wouldve been a low 10 sec car...
Now... do u want to make ur car handle only in a straight line?
What kind of budget are u looking at?
If Im not mistakin we used to have a membwr with a bolt on only camaro with a notch hatch that went 10.99 at cecil county dragway on a cold day with alot of weight reductions...
So with all that being said... lets start with those questions.
Lol.

Your capability to run into the 10's is going to depend a lot on suspension. Bolt on LT1's have gone 11's, and I've seen head/cam cars that couldn't get out of the 12's. My 700+ RWHP Turbo setup only went a best of 11.58@135 because I had zero seat time and couldn't get it out of the hole.
Start with your suspension. Get it dialed in and getting you out of the hold. Go with a stall. Dial suspension back in. Bolt on's.....dial suspension back in. Cam or Head/Cam setup.....dial suspension back in. Seeing a pattern? A solid Head/Cam setup (Lloyd....paging Lloyd) coupled with the right suspension should get you into the 10's.

Well I want it to drive long. Budget won't be a problem. Okay I was thinking this . 355 le head and cam combo, 150 shot of nitrous with Bmr suspension, 4.10 gears . What else would I be missing? And nvm 10 second car. I'd rather have a fun street car that would whip newer generation and newer 5.0.
