Met a guy at a car show with a 94 shit brown caprice, ellwein stroker, and torque head who drove up from maryland. Hes a bracket racer and car is consistent 11's on motor. He said he loves it.

Its a 24x setup, whats not to like? Only complaint i would have is the pcm is repinned by them, so if u brick a computer, they have power of demand and price.

Yeah, that's the rub right there. I like to have a spare PCM laying around because I've had them turn into doorstops through a glitch in TunerCats.

Well this would be hp tuners for a 24x pcm, but same thought process. You cant just go to a junkyard and get a spare, u have to get one from torquehead thats repinned

Or repin your harness and run a standard 0411. That is the only way I'd consider it.

If they'd have come out with an adapter plate, that would have made this kit a no-brainer. Sockets for the original leads on one side and then leads for the 411 on the other. In their defense, they do have a 5 year warranty on their PCM and they say that they'll replace it even if it bricks in a flash - but the fact remains that your car is down until you get a new PCM from them. If you wanted to actually buy a spare, its like $500+ just for the unit.

And if they suddenly go out of business, ur stuck repinning it anyway. And their full kit costs as much as a efi connection 24x kit.

Im sure they would sell you a spare PCM to have, as a spare. I think it comes with a 5yr warranty as well.

Not sure how it works if you brick a pcm but this is right from their website

Finally, we always 100% test each PCM on our test bench to make sure all inputs/ouputs are functioning within specification. We are pleased to provide warranty on this PCM and should it ever fail then simply send it back for a new one.

A warranty is worthless if the company goes belly up.

    Just saying
