    Default sloz28 down!

Drove my 96 z28 on Friday, let it sit on Saturday because of a storm. On Sunday I went to drive it and now it will only start if you give it 100% throttle and has a misfire. The electric fans won't come on unless AC is on. Coolant temp on the dash is working, engine gets hot and my handheld code reader is saying it's ice cold. Coolant temp sensor in the water pump? I'm at a loss with this.

Change the sensor in the pump. It's reading soo cold that it's wanting to dump all the fuel on start up hence the 100% throttle and fans wont come on cause the PCM thinks it's not time too. The second sensor in the head is why the dash reads right.

+1. Had a car at work with similar conerns and it was indeed a faulty coolant temp sensor in the pump. New sensor and car was good to go.
