    Default Need new opti

I put my old MSD on the car but haven't finished the job. The more I think about it I really don't trust it. I know the true Delco ones are getting hard to come by. My car sits so much I have rusted up the insides of every Delco or oem knock off I ever installed. Is dynaspark still around? I like the torqhead 24x idea but he doesn't support 1993. I don't feel like putting 1994 harness in just to convert everything else. I'm budgeting for what it is going to take to get the Ultra Z back on the road. I get my bonus (finally after 3 years!!) next week. I have a new set of cats and found what I believe is the tune my friend did for emissions with my current setup. Any suggestions on the ignition?

    was the MSD vented?

the 93, IIRC, did not have a vented opti so corrosion build up inside of them was very common....which is why they went to vented

If the MSD you have is vented and was working previously I would use it.

93 was non vented. The MSD is. I used it when I tried running a delteq but it didn't work. The Delteq has issues with 1993. I don't trust the MSD because it has been on and off the car a bunch of times.

yeah I get that as good....but regardless of what Opti is used one should use loc-tite on rotor screws...so opening up a new Opti is advised

I use a skim coat of dialectic grease on the opti cap seal on re-install. Not only does that assist in restoring the original sealing...it helps keep out fluids IMHO.

Only issue with delco is it automatically voids warranty
