Sustained high load is much harsher on the motor/cooling system than a quick burst with a car than weighs 3k lbs...

Towing with boosted gassers is a tough challenge but it def can be done.
    Correlation does not imply causation.

I would look into an LSA top end on that Caddy. They are probably a better bang for the buck than a Procharger. Or turbo of course.

I thought you had other plans for that. Sounds like a plan, then! There was a guy on the motor city forum who towed with his 5.3 that had a whipple. It wasn't a monster and I don't remember the numbers, but it made it a much more practical tow rig. He recently sold it for a better optioned 496 truck.

Being that the p1 was maxed out at just under 10 lbs of boost... ill be upgrading the blower for the lt1 when it gets transplanted... leaving me with the p1 to use on the caddy.

SNM is under the impression towing with a boosted gas motor would be hard on the cooling system and I dont wanna hurt the caddy. Not lookin for a race truck... just figured 5-8 lbs of boost

Its got a trans cooler on it currently.

I guess if it runs hot I could always upgrade the rad... or at least the fans.

You installed a larger external trans cooler already? In that case, it should be good. Factory electric fans move alot of air

I don't think you'll be overworking the Escalade with a little boost and supporting mods. Its not like it'll see 8psi at 65mph for 500 miles. The motor will be barely breathing at 2k rpm. You'll be glad it's there when you are climbing hills.
