I used the edelbrock airgab with my lt4 afr227 eliminators... some call it a "doorstop" but it worked great for me.

Hopefully I'll come across one... I'd be curious to see one on a flow bench compared to a GM peice just for the hell of it. I can't imagine it would flow worse than a factory intake.

The problem with the air-gap manifold is not flow. It is the reduced plenum volume. One of the mag's ran comparison tests when Edelbrock first started selling them.
