    Default Been awhile since I was here but ltXtech was never far away from my heart

    I have been gone for awhile with dealing with life ect and also a few projects. 1970 Firebird Espirit original stick shift car which is getting my 1997 LT1 and T56 trans put in it.     I do now have a parts car which is a 73 and it is donating its roof to my 72 camaro but I am building a daily driver with an LT1 and need opinions on what rear gear to run in the car to daily drive and do the street strip thing. I got this car for a hundred bucks because thats all a wrecking yard would give to the owner. The car sat behind the local bowling alley for over 20 years and I got it just for the roof skin that I was going to use on my 72 Camaro until I found out it was an original stick car so now instead of getting scrapped it it getting fixed.

    With a 6spd... i loved my 4.10s... i could pull out in third without slippin the clutch.

    20160519_181840.jpg20160519_180031.jpg70 10.jpg20170117_170059.jpgDont know why my pics arent showing up. Thanks for the input on the gears as I was thinking about 4.10 for it and the only thing i will have to look in to is critical driveshaft speed to have one built that will hold up.
    I have Trick flow gen x 195 heads and I talked to Lloyd Elliot about a LE2 cam for it as well. I put my 73 parts car in here too, check out the mad blackberry bush action haha.

    This works great for me because I wanted to do a big block car and an LT car so now i get to do both.20160429_200901.jpg20170116_190850.jpg
    The parts car was parked back in the mid 80s and the 400 Pontiac engine had less than 100 miles on a rebuild, it looks good under the valve covers and turns over by hand but its got small chamber 389 heads and we dont have gas that will work for something like that anymore.

    They still sell zinc additive for flat tappet stuff

    True but I am more worried about the compression ratio being like above 10 to 1 with iron heads.
