95 Corvette build
Hello everyone,
I just got my corvette recently, back in September. I really love it so far. I'm looking to plan a build for the future. I will be gathering parts over time so cost isn't so much of a big deal for me, within reason of course.
The only plans so far:
383 or 396 stroker, with forged internals and an overbore of .030
Long tube headers (Thinking Exotic muscle full length 1 3/4 with cats)
BBK 58mm TB
Probably ported lt1 intake manifold
1.6 Rockers
I don't know about the cam so far. I'm thinking about something with at least a .500" lift. The actual heads...I'm not quite sure what I want to for that. I'm thinking darts or afr. Though after that, I'm not too sure. The car came with some aftermarket exhaust, though I haven't been able to figure out if it was a system or just custom exhaust. It has magnaflow mufflers and resonator. But everything before the resonator looks stock. It's an automatic transmission. But I'm planning on getting a manual valve body with a shifter. I want to build it to hold the power that I would like. I want to give it close ratio gears. I have seen some from Sonnax, I believe. I have been looking at the efi connection 24x or 58x ignition. Has anyone dealt with that or heard about it? The power I would like it to make is about 500-550 whp. Is that too much power to hope for? I'm don't mind using power adders. But I don't really care for nitrous.

Nice plans for a great build. I would recommend AFR heads and take a look at Torque head 24x conversation. I read about problems with the EFI conversation. Subscribed.

Torqhead doesn't work for corvettes.
You'll have to do EFI kit.. I haven't had a single problem with mine..

Unless you're wanting to run a 6l80e, 24x is all you'll need.
24x uses 0411 pcm, 58x uses whatever the Ls2 and up use.

I didn't know about torqhead. I was looking into efi connection. Which would be better the 24x or 58x? I know that the 24x would be similar ignition as the ls1. But the 58x is the newer ls. If I read that correctly.

It just says they offer no plug and play system... it doesnt say it won't work though. The motor takes all the same connections as an fbody I believe...
