Code 51 and others
Went to O'Reilly last week and got my car scanned. Came back with 8 codes:
-42
-43
-44
-45
-51
-53
-54
-55
Ive talked to a few different people so far and it seems the consensus is I need to fix code 51 before I touch anything else. The car idles rough(fluctuating between 510 and 580 at operating temp), surges audibly and visually(rpm and voltage gauge), does not accelerate over 2100-2200 rpm without some kind of shaking. Feels like all the timing is gone. Lloyd Elliott suggested that the car is in limp mode and I need to replace the computer and check out my entire harness for damage. Moe Bailey also told me to attempt to source another computer to attempt to eliminate the issues as well as check out the opti using the shbox.com check method.
If anyone else has any ideas, I would love to hear them. Im going to go ahead and attempt to find another computer local if I can. If anyone has one they would let go for cheap PM me.94 Trans Am A4 Almost Stock

Was the scanner they used an Innova? If so the data base of codes stored in the scanner for the OBD-1 LT1 is corrupt, and produces a list of codes just like that. 44 and 45 contradict each other, indicating the O2 sensor is stuck at a lean reading and a rich reading. 54 is not a valid code. GaryDoug, the author of Scan9495 discovered the source of the problem, and I have seen people with the same list of incorrect codes several times. They are not real codes.
Check with O'Reilly. If it was an Innova, show them this post:

Yep, those are bogus. Seen them before many times. Wrong scanner was used.

No. Those are not correct codes. OBD-1 does not use the P0xxx format. The best quick reference for codes is Shoebox's list, which is SPECIFICALLY for the LT1:

According to the "part throttle driving" file, there are no trouble codes.
You might want to use my scan app instead, because this one wont save the log file in a universal format that anyone can view.

I just used the Scan9495 program to get an idle log. Hopefully this helps towards getting me on the right track
