Fixed an oil leak, now it won't start
My 94 TA has been leaking from the waterpump shaft seal for a few months apparently. Pulled the opti and waterpump yesterday to replace the seals and now the car won't start. It ran fine prior to so something happened, obviously. I'm at a loss as to what's going on. The opti is spline drive and went back on without any issues and sits flush with the timing chain cover. All I'm getting is cranking but it will not turn over. I've done an opti swap before with no issues so this had me scratching my head.

The statement that you made it cranks but will not turn over. I will assume that the engine is turning over with not spark.
1. Did the opti get wet?
2. Did you check for spark?
3. Check all electrical connections
4. Check for proper voltage at each electronic conector. Hope this will help you solve.

It did not get wet. I've got spark. I checked the opti connection, plug wires, coil plug etc. and haven't come up with anything.

I'd reinstall the opti, it's not as hard as people make it out to be to install it off, then check wire routing.

It's definitely not as bad now as it was the first time. I'm hoping that, worst scenario, my buddy that was helping me plugged some wires in incorrectly.

Yes sir. It's got plenty of juice. Short of somehow frying the opti or serious spark plug wire routing issues I'm at a loss.

Check all connectors. I had a bad ICM connector, would check good sometimes then short out and not work. Wiggle check all connectors. A bad connector cost me 450.00.
