Default The correct serial to USB adapter for the jet spectrum tuner for OBD11

I'm new to tuning and using the jet spectrum tuner and using a adapter cable from serial to USB.
Looking to know if anyone can tell me what adapter cable to by ( manufacturer and where I can by it) to by compatible with the pcm and the jet spectrum tuner so it takes the adapter cable out of the equation when I get a failure during uploading a tune and a possible bricked pcm.
Thank you for looking at my post. I appreciate your opinion and thought.

I'm confused by your thread title. Is "OBD11" a typo for OBD1, or is it OBDII (OBD2)? Because if it's OBD2, you HAVE to use Jet's proprietary cable.

Spartan7 I ment to be OBD2. I went to tune cats Web site and Learned that tune cat makes an upgrade to go from serial to USB that's required. Like you mentioned. The also have updates and GM definition files.
Thank you for your input I hope I clarified my title to my post.
    Thanks
