    Default No Bass

I recently installed a new head unit in my '94. It has the premium 10 speaker sound system in it, and i noticed something annoying. With the new head unit in, im getting no bass, but the bass worked fine with the stock unit in. Anyone have this problem and know of the fix?

The factory amp for the sail panel subs is powered via the antenna power. On most aftermarket head units the antenna is only powered if the tuner is being used. Fix for this is to hook up the antenna lead to the switched 12v wire instead of the power antenna lead.

Could you go into more detail by what you mean for the antennae wire? I'm confused. I pulled out the head unit, and I'm not sure what 12v wire you're talking about, or how to hook one up to the antennae wire. Thanks!

Just my 2c. When i had my eclipse head unit installed in my 96 camaro. They actually bypased the factory bose sub and amp telling me that they could not run that set up with the aftermarket head unit.

Thats why i asked what i did above. Good luck.

Yeah I installd it myself. I was just hoping there was a way to keep the head unit and the sail panel speakers without buying new ones

Oh... well the sail panel speakers should not be an issue. When u said bass, i assumed u meant the hatch speaker/s.

They probably didn't know what they were doing then. The Bose setup has an amp on signal wire that needs to be hooked up. I had an aftermarket head unit in my old 96 Z28 that I wired up myself.

It was many years ago. They said they needed to bypass the amp because of the power out put from the eclipse...

Either way, that car is about making its own bass now. lol
