Not a bad deal! This is Spec's flagship clutch, rated for 845 ft/lbs @ the FW. The clutch alone has an MSRP of $688, not including the FW. Good luck with the sale!

Pretty old thread, so do you still have this?

If so, does the flywheel have a removable counterweight to make it zero balance?

Yep, still have it. The flywheel is the factory steel GM flywheel. Since the flywheel is with the clutch it was balanced with, to my knowledge you will not need to have this flywheel rebalanced (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Oh, then that does me no good since that has counterweight built in. So, it's the same one I already have from my stock LT1....which does me no good at all for the 395.

I was thinking it was a SPEC flywheel, which would have a removable counterweight so it could be neutral balanced.

Thanks for the response. Sorry for getting your hopes up on the chance of a sale. It's a great deal, but just doesn't work for me.

Yeah it's the stock GM one. The price I am selling was really for just the clutch, but I thought I'd throw in the flywheel as a bonus to try and get it sold quick (we see that didn't work), lol. I still believe the setup to be a very good deal, I just need to find someone who needs a good deal on the clutch.

@ScottKnight, fwiw I still run a stock steel FW with an internal balanced rotating assembly. The machine shop was able to mill out the weight from the stock FW for a zero balance. Just an option to think about no mater what clutch your looking at.

Actually, this is primarily an autocross and HDPE car, so I really want an aluminum flywheel in it. The takeout parts are a SPEC 2+ on stock flywheel, so I could easily and more cheaply neutral balance mine. I was just asking about this because it was a sweet deal. For such a sweet deal, I was willing to try a steel flywheel.

You get what you pay for and what I will probably end up paying for is a McLeod Street Twin with aluminum flywheel.

EDIT: How rude of me. That was a great tip if I hadn't already thought of it. So, thank you.

A street twin is what I went with. But start saving now. Mine was $1600 and that was with the steel flywheel (aluminum was much more).

Apparently, now that so many of these cars are 3+ decades old, they are getting cheaper. It's $1600 for a twin-disk with aluminum flywheel. I am OK with that, since I am not abusive and my engine isn't THAT powerful. It will last me a long time.

What is screwing things up for me are things like this one that is for sale and the $800 garage sale (returned) SPEC 2+ with steel flywheel on one of the popular sites. That is a SPEC flywheel with the removable counterweight. So, exactly half of what I am looking at with the twin disk/aluminum. That 2+ should easily hold my normally aspirated 395".
