Default *** Time for a new DD, what will it be? ***

So, after transferring to my new command a few weeks ago, I started searching for a little more reliable DD than the 2000 199k Grand Am. Don't get me wrong, it is a great little car for what I have in to it but at 22-24mpg on the highway, it is barely saving money over driving my truck.

I had a 2003 Tiburon years ago and picked up another one on Veteran's Day. The following Monday the 3 cars in front of me going through the tunnel to work, slammed on their brakes for a squirrel.... Yes, you read right. A %^$#*&Q squirrel. Needless to say, the Tiburon was totaled and since I bought it with cash it had liability only.

After a few days of being EXTREMELY pissed off, I started car shopping again. After ALL the crap I have talked about people buying V-6 Camaros and Firebirds over the years..... I started researching the 300HP V6 5th gens. Noticing that they were rated at 28mpg hwy, I was not super impressed. At this point it was time to do some calculating.

    V6 - 28mpg - 100 miles/day - $3/gallon(just what I used for a highside) - $53.57/week for gas

    SS - 24mpg - 100 miles/day - $3/gallon - $62.50

Being ME, an extra $9 a week to drive an SS over a V6 was a no-brainer. Thus, the SS search began and Tuesday I left work early to test drive a triple black one. Paint/Interior/Wheels.

The numbers crunched out pretty good, so I took home my new DD below. 2010 Camaro 2SS loaded. Heated seats, M6 with the LS3, sunroof, lower 4-gauge package, bluetoooth, HID's, halos, leather, and probably more I am forgetting.

Went and grabbed a quick wash today while taking my son home, since it was raining the day I bought it and colder than a well-digger's ass since then.

Thanks! I figured you were going to ask when the Hawk was going up for sale

P.S. It is NOT. Should be moving it into a 10x30 storage with the rest of my apartment overflow stuff in the next week if weather cooperates.

Yes Reaper isn't going anywhere other than the graveyard. He isn't bad on mileage with all those hwy miles. Just didn't want to stack up those kind of miles on my tires and all the suspension parts.

They are actually dipped, and have a few spots that need fixing. So, I ordered gunmetal gray dip to give that a look, then if I don't like it just re-dip some more black over that to stay all Murdered out.
