Do you feel the ls1 PCM is just as capable as the aftermarket ECM's?

I guess that is where my confusion in your statement is. In my opinion I don't believe the 24x is considered "aftermarket EFI". Did it come as a factory option on these cars? No, but there is many things in this class that were not a factory option on these engines/cars. I was under the impression this was the modified class.

yes....at least as far as to carry the same weight penalty...will it do everything that the FAST or Big Stuff will do, no...but it is light years ahead of the LTx pcm and opti
I approved the rules as written and posted ....I have yet to see any LTx car come with the 24x system form the factory...the purpose of the penalty for Aftermarket EFI and carb, was to give a small break to anyone still running the OE PCM....the 24x cannot be allowed to run heads up against the OE system1994 Formula, 396cid, AFR 227's, Single plane, and 2 of the big ones.

...24x carries a weight penalty in Extreme street as well....the issue is it should carry a weight penalty in modified as well...the rules state it exactly that way

If it is that much of an advantage what is the weight penalty going to do?

200# is a 1-2 tenth difference...can the aftermarket EFI system make up that difference, absolutely...you guys are splitting hairs over something that the rules clearly state...aftermarket EFI carries a 200# penalty.
so the question is...Is the 24x the OE equipped PCM on the LTx platform...if it isn't, which we all no it isn't...it carries a 200# penalty.1994 Formula, 396cid, AFR 227's, Single plane, and 2 of the big ones.

I can't see penalizing a MODIFIED car (next step outlaw) for a 24x system. How about a weight break of 100# for lt1 pcms?

What about 100 lbs for 24x. I do agree it is a big advantage over a stock ecm but it's not nearly as good as a aftermarket ecm.
