Once the car is running, the alternator is providing the juice. The battery dictates your cranking and cold cranking amps (how long you can turn the starter). It will also affect how long the car can sit without running, without the battery dying on you. Those would be the things to test.

I'm also interested to see how this works out for you. I bought a Dyna Battery to put back up front of my car this year. It's advertised as 13.5lbs but is actually about 14.5lbs. I've got it mounted and it's gonna save me a good 45lbs over the lead acid battery in the back plus all the cable running the length of the car. I haven't gotten mine running yet.

I laid the battery on its side so you can get more contact area with the top portion as opposed to side mount, pulled the factory bolts out, and used the supplied bolts with the factory cables. I had to get a couple of copper washers to cover the connectors because the bolts will go right through. You'll see what I mean when you try to bolt them up. If you need closer pictures let me know.
