During the summer I had originally decided to repaint the car semi-glos black, but after stripping all of the chrome decided I might as well push on for base clear shiny stuff. My compressor seized up half way through the clear coat and I had to sand it down again and reclear.

Being a garage paint job I sanded it and buffed it to bury all of the flaws. Some gray vinyl die freshed up the seats.

2014-10-05 ready to roll .JPG2014-10-05 Ready to roll.JPG
In mid October on a nice Sunday I decided to baseline the combination. the dyno article I built the engine around suggested 400 hp which would put it around 14.5 seconds et using Qtr Jr.

The first run was mid 14's as predicted, but with an open 3.08 rear one tire spun a lot. On the second run I tried to launch harder and one tire went up in smoke with a 16.6 @98 mph. The next run was an easier launch for a best of 14.11@ 99.7 mph.

I was pretty happy with the results. My son made a few more passes and lined up against a big block Plymouth testing a new nitrous sytem. The rearend yoke on the Plymouth blew and the Ford took some shrapnel in the fender. What are the chances?
