What's it look like? It's not a cowl hood is it?

Do they advertise it as being functional? I think any solution that has a filter plug directly into the maf would work just fine, as long as it is exposed.

These are the FIPK by K&N, the pictures are on an LS1, put I'm pretty sure the GEN2 version of it is the exact same as these.

Yeah you could prob fab up a LS1 FIPK or maybe a ultra-z/ws6 airbox.

ya thats what i was thinking. there are some ultra z kits on suncoast but they're like $340 bucks. i could probably use some weather stripping to seal the filter to the hood. maybe i can buy it part by part on ebay.

i bet you could also grab an oem WS6 airbox..I think you can get a lid from SLP for $85 that doesn't say "pontiac ram air" on it, i got my whole kit (upper and lower box, K&N filter, and both the MAF to TB bellow and a TB to box coupler which i didnt use because my stock one off my own MAF was in better shape) for $115 shipped but from what i've seen that was a steal and not likely to happen to everyone.

I got the ultra z hood and box. SLP want way too much IMHO. The box is nothing more than a stock WS6 box. THe lid was cut out to expose the whole filter. You can piece one together probally pretty reasonably. I have a 93, so i dunno about fitting a MAF in there, but it is tight between the box and the TB. I used parst from my K&N Cai to make the coupling. Hope this helps..
