Haven't posted in here for a while, got distracted by the other car/hobbies/life.
My friend with the 350z recently bought a built motor and is in the process of getting a YSi. Can't let him be king of the hill so this is good motivation to get my junk together. He's shooting for around 700whp and should be together before OCMD in the spring. I'm trying to make it down there too.
I bought a dummy opti through Torqhead for the 1x cam sensor rather than using the vortec dizzy, pic at the bottom. The EFI 24x wheel is already on the car so I won't be using the crank sensor. All I really need at this point is to repin the harness. I don't think I'm going to do the single plane swap right out of the gate. With the Torqhead piece, I can just run my home ported LT4 mani for the time being and watch the plugs for distribution issues.
Sorta gave up on getting the Si-trim vette kit to work. It was going to require a lot of fabrication and work that I just don't have the time for anymore. I have a few leads on fbody D1SC/t-trim kits that I'm looking into.
So in addition to all of that, I need to rebuild my rear with 4.10's, send the wavetrac back, have the moser TA mount milled, redo the entire fuel system for e85, hack up my bumper for the IC, get a real tire setup, new 4" exhaust setup, etc. I am also going to pull the heads and possibly have the intake guides done. Might drop CR some more with a thicker HG? Might do the viper mainshaft on the t56? Haven't decided yet. I have about 6 months to get my act together.8285075.jpeg

Guys with meth kits, how reliable have they been and how often do you have to fill them? Trying to decide if I want to go that route rather than flex fuel. I didn't realize that Omega Fuels in Warminster got shut down so now the next closest station is 30 miles away in Glen Mills. I moved back to the Philly area a few months ago and it's super dry compared to Reading.
Lead on the D1 kit is pullied to hit max boost around 6.5k. I'm guessing I'll see about 15-16psi judging by the current owner's setup compared to mine. So I have to choose between running meth always on 93 (I think it's needed?), or drop boost with a larger pulley for 93 and run a content sensor for E (probably the same power).Last edited by Catmaigne; 11-09-2018 at 07:30 AM.

I ran a meth kit on my truck when it was supercharged and used the washer tank as a reservoir. I wired an LED in the cab to the pump to indicate when it was working under boost (I controlled the pump with the MAF signal). I didn't wire in a float switch but some do as a safeguard against running dry. Even driven hard it didn't use much volume relative to that of the reservoir size so I rarely needed to fill it but I had less than half the power you're shooting for.

Tune with 93 and meth. Availability is my main concern. If you come down to OC, there are no E stations for 100 miles. Of course you can bring it yourself or buy it from one of the shops that bring the drums in trailers. Fwiw, We're doing a snow performance kit on Jorge's 3.8 turbo purse for a KR deterrent with a 50/50 mix of VP M1 and distilled water. Plus this way it saves you on switching your entire fuel system over to be ethanol compatible.
