Stock shortblock with 110k
AI 200cc heads and 228/234 cam
AI CNC'd street/strip intake manifold
Edelbrock 58 tb, KN CAI
Hooker LTs, no-name O/R y-pipe, Borla catback
Made 404/385 through the T56 and 10 bolt with stock 3.42s. My y-pipe has a 2.5" choke point where it plugs into the I-pipe, so I think there are 15-25 numbers left in a better exhaust setup. The current y-pipe is a used one I had lying around and put on the car to get it back on the road a few months back. Intention is to put a better y on it sometime soon and probably do some minor touch up on the tune and see what it makes. It's peaking earlier (around 6100-6200rpm) than I've seen in other cars with this same cam and heads, so that leads me to believe that there's a restriction somewhere. We'll see.
It runs out well on the street and blows street tires away, even from a 50-60mph roll in this cool weather.Cayenne Red Metallic 1997 Z28 M6

Nice numbers for sure especially if you have an exhaust restriction. The Y-pipe merge is often overlooked I think on these cars. I built my own Y pipe using a flow master merge, the pipes come together in a nice radius and them parallel into the merge. About 18" past the merge I put an E-cutout. On the dyno the cutout was worth 15hp/15ftlbs at peak and more than that in some areas in the lower RPM. I'm not real impressed with the magnaflow cat back as I wasn't expecting that much of a gain from the cutout, I had installed it mostly to be obnoxious.

Yeah mine's already obnoxiously loud with the wide-open Borla, but when I swap the Y-pipe I'll also do a cutout just aft of the merge. Ought to be worth something, particularly with the cam profile I'm running. Most of the guys I've talked to running the same basic setup I am are 420-435rwhp, peaking around 6400-6550rpm, with similar torque numbers to what I'm making. They're all running cutouts or true duals with dumps. This is mainly why I think my full catback and pinched y-pipe represents a substantial restriction.
For now though I'm happy to just drive it and enjoy the fact that it's not on jackstands.Cayenne Red Metallic 1997 Z28 M6

Man that is my build almost exactly! Just swap t56 for th400 and add a 150 shot.
Now: m6, 24x conversion, full bolt ons, fullish suspension
In the works: forged 355, le2, th400, 9", direct port 200 shot. Ton of weight reduction!

Just wanted to post an update on the car.
Made a few changes:
-4.30 gear
-Weld RT-S wheels to replace my 11 year old ET streets on stock 16" wheels
-27" Hoosier Quick Time Pro Bias Ply and skinnies up front
Took the car to the 1/8th mile drag strip and was finally getting the car to act the way I wanted off the line. I was just getting the launch figured out by slipping the clutch just right and they told me to come back with a roll bar. I'm also afraid I may have put too small of tire on the rear, I'm hitting the 7K rev limiter right at the finish line, maybe a few feet before. A 28" would probably work better.

great looking car! love the color, congrats on the times..throw the 28's on and see if it helps at all! you'll have a little bit more sidewall so it'll help a tiny tiny bit and kill a little rpm

What style were the rims you had on it before? I actually like those, and it's rare that find rims worth buying for me

Looks good! Get that 28" tire on there, and you'll be fine. How do you like that 24x conversion?
