I usually take some sort of preworkout, got some VPX that really fucked me up baaddd and has now made me extremely gun shy of caffeine and stuff that messes with my heart.

Nice basement setup you've got larry! I used to have a bench and free weights but never really used them. Now, I wish I still had them. I need to get back in shape. round is not the shape I like.

I'm just starting to get back into it, after 3 years of not doing anything. I'm not fat, but I do have some "soft spots", and while I look decent with clothes on, as soon as the shirt comes off, I'm not in the condition I was when I got out of the Army in 2010. I'm 6'3" tall, and weight about 195lbs. Hoping to get to about 185, and build some muscle so I don't look soft, particularly in the arms and abs.

Friend from work and I have decided to work out 3-4 times a week, we went on a 4 mile jog last night, and Monday, we are planning to do upper body. Both of us are former Army, so we are just doing what we know. Not looking to get huge, I'm just hoping to get the body I had when I was 21 back.

Anything I should try for a pre-workout? I've used that type of thing before, just to help boost energy levels, but I don't do caffeine anymore, causes headaches. Something that's not going to be a detriment to my already well-balanced diet would be ideal.

    1994 Pontiac Formula-PPM, LT1/T56, BBK Stainless Shorty Headers, Magnaflow cat-back, 17" C6 5-spokes.
Coming Soon: Full UMI tubular suspension, UMI STB, Eibach ProKit coils, KYB AGX adjustable shocks, and a tune.
