Here's a quick question... The engine was running strong when pulled but is there anything I should change that is common to fail on these and would be easier to change out while the engine is pulled?

Great question. While its never happened to me, I read a lot about oil pump pickups falling off. Now would be a great time to address that. Summit sells a complete oil pump kit with a high pressure spring installed with the pickup welded on for $50. Or you can just have yours welded and add the high pressure spring.

Thanks man, That's something Ill def look into doing. Also, the transmission in the car was grabbing perfectly in 1-2 but once in 3rd it would slip with any power being put to it. Does this sound like internal damage or could it be a servo or something not so hard to fix?

Ull need to have a tranny expert check that.

Is this a 4L60E? When I did my LT1 swap in my 96, we put another speed sensor in the tranny. You'll need someone who can weld aluminum to put the bung in and they are finicky as the reluctor must within millimeters of the gear.

Of course this would not explain it slipping, but rather would keep the trans from engaging the gear to begin with without the solenoid working.

The truck has the 4L60E, the Camaro I'll have to double check bc someone was telling me it was a 700r4.
