I will prolly get ready and head out about 3pm ... unless the reports say it will be sooner. I could really use a co-pilot who knows how to work a lap top so I can drive.

I use to chase with a few friends that are not meteorologist. It was fun as hell!
Have fun!

here is how the day started
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgAFsXIeqTg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgAFsXIeqTg
about 10 min later i got the tornado on the ground
IMG_20130519_162222_454.jpg
and i drove right up to it as seen in the next two videos
after that cool shot i had to drive fro a while to get back ahead of it and about 20 later it had built in strength and was an EF4 tornado ... i had about 8 min of epic footage but sadly almost all of it somehow got corrupted ... and i was only able to salvage a small shot of it.
in that last video that was an EF4 wedge tornado
this was a little bit of the damage i filmed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft3tp...ature=youtu.be
just on the other side of the tree across the street (drove through the right side of it). there was a moble home that had been flipped upside down. thank God no one was in it and some houses ... everyone was so concerned with the crap in the road and no one was going up to the houses i yelled out "Has any checked the home for people?" no one had so i took off running to the far house because it had a large propane tank that was damaged and leaking ... i stepped in the home through the front broken window next to the door and yelled is anyone in here? no answer, so i started looking for a shelter and didnt see one. then i went to the second house back by the parked cars and blocked road ... there was a large tree that had fallen on the front of the house and was no way in the front. so i ran to the back and found a storm shelter. i pounded on the door and again yelled is anyone in there and open the door and 15 people came out. all were accounted for from the homes and flipped trailer. but the homes were total losses sadly. but they lived through a direct hit from a EF4 tornado (166-200 mph wind).
this next video was shot by a pro storm chaser (i was the car behind him)

the house with the propane leak is on the left of the screen once he stops, that was the first house i ran to cause the higher danger for anyone who was in side. thankfully the all went to the house you see on the right of the screen as he pulls up. i told them it was safe to come out. there was a cow that had to be put out of its misery, it had been impaled and had 3 broken legs. but other than that yeah it was a great day and for chasing.Last edited by zooguy; 05-20-2013 at 02:01 AM.

Sounds like fun -- in the video of the EF4 were all those pickup trucks and other cars also storm chasing?
