    i picked up a new 4l80 from acdelco and dumped a boat load of bills into it. so far my tranny guy said its solid and will be unbreakable to the 1200hp mark. we sent all the hardparts out to get cryogenic treatment so itl be good for around 1700 after that now my question is how was the install? did u need to get special mounts? bang out the tunnel? ect. also do u know any good companys that make forward shift manual valve bodys with a trans break for this motor? i know tci makes em but iv bin told they suck and burn up the overdrive....

    If you are manual valve body, you do not need to do much at all to make it fit. Chop off the ears up front on the trans and bolt her up.

    You need a new trans X member and DS made up for the 1350 yoke on the trans. Otherwise, simple.

    Mines a unknown mileage used unit out of a work van. I put a shift kit in it and used a UMI crossmember. Make sure you use the factory hard line for the Trans cooler as it has to go in the fitting all the way. (I had an fittings welded to the lines)

    I had to clearance the tunnel brace as you can see in the pics.

    Ok what was the pn from UMI on the trans crossmember? And also will a t56 PCM work for this swap? I have gone to the dark side and am doing an 80e swap from my t56 idk how I feel about it yet though

    basicly it will do away with the off throttle 4-3 downshift of the trucks, (I am told???)
