I've had it on craigslist for $1500 but didn't have any bites. I have a guy that's going to give me $2k with the 350 in it. Since the monte is getting an lt1 I basically don't have anything in the engine swap. Just time.
Its got some rot around the rear wheel wells but I was surprised with how straight it was.

I have been looking for a more solid roller to swap the rest of my parts over to. been looking to spend $1k or less. Not a whole lot of takers on the 4 doors out there. Good luck with the swap and sale.

Hey that rust is free weight reduction. Do you know how much you weight with the lt1 in it? What trans are you running?

While waiting for the v8 motor mounts for the nova I'm going to start cleaning up the engine bay in the monte. There's a lot of old wiring and vacuum lines to go away as well at 28 years of funk. Got it soaking in degreaser now. Did some stumbling around tonight for some FI ideas. Came across this....

It was on thirdgen. Twin m90's. Did some quick research and found there are quite a few guys that have done this. Obviously its not the most efficient way of doing things but its pretty cool looking. I looked into doing a remote mounted m122 from the newer gt500 and a used one in good shape only brings about $600. I think with all the extra under hood space the monte has to offer I might go with one of these remote style setups. Duels would be neat and I thought about staggering the noses to drive each blower separately to get away from all the extra belt routing but the crank pulley would probably end up being somewhere near the license plate by the time its all said and done...
Oh well just daydreaming at this point. 1st priority is to finish building the engine and get it in place.

Just saw your Nova ad while I was looking for rollers, still no takers without the 350?

No, had a guy come look at it last weekend and was really interested but not mechanically inclined. He asked what I would ask for it running and I told him $2k. Called me back the next day and said he wanted it but it could go south at anytime. People change their minds and things come up.
Here's a closer shot of the rust...

Other than that its got a spot the size of a quarter bubbling on the rear passenger door but its repairable. The wheel wells will need replaced eventually.

So I started dropping the SBC in the Nov a today, ran into a problem. Seems that from 1968-1972 the nova had engine specific motor mounts (engine side). So a universal style mount won't work, I've got to order them now.
I get the impression that the nova was the "compact" car of the 70's because the 350 fills up the engine bay nicely!

    In monte carlo news....
I've decided to do a single remote mounted roots setup. I've sourced an m122 from a Shelby gt500 for around $450 shipped. There is a member on ls1 tech that has done this on an ls motor.

I'm going to make a few changes to his design but I think it will be budget friendly, effective, and different. Power goals are pretty much out the window at this point. From what I've read the gt500 guys can get close to 600rwhp with pulley changes and ported blower housings on stock motors so it should be sufficient for my needs. The low end torque the roots style setup has to offer should pair nicely with the somewhat lacking low end grunt the cc306 doesn't offer, or so I hope....

Got it with all the stock trim from the blower to airbox and an aftermarket pulley hub for $450 shipped. These have an internal bypass which eliminates the need for a bov. The piping should be pretty straight forward. Looking forward to getting started on this....
