Thanks for the info, It was actually my fault. The gaps on all rings are within factory tolerances. The ring wasn't dead level when I set them into the bore. That's what I get for escaping to the garage and away from the GF's projects.

are they file fit rings? power adder?
the top ring should have more gap than the second ring. the third ring is your oil ring. the gap on the oil ring should not need to be changed.
speed pro should have a recommended amount of gap per inch of bore. based on the application.
power adders typically run a larger gap so the ring ends don't butt. n/a you can run tighter gaps.

I got alil more work done tonight as the rotating assembly has been finished and torqued to spec. I also sent the cam out today to be polished as it was slightly binding on the 3rd cam bearing. Ill be setting the oil pump pickup tommorow and tacking it in place.

I would have attempted the work tonight cut the work short after hearing some tragic news. A young man from a station about 40 miles south of me lost his life while responding to an alarm. I personally did not know him but its still a great loss and shock to our state fire service community.

I know I haven't updated in a few weeks but I'm kinda at a stand still now. The cam is still at the shop getting polished; my friend is the machinist and it an after hours thing. I also got back my water pump housing, acc bracket, and timing cover from the bead blaster. Just like the intake they came out amazing. I'm going to hit the timing cover with cast blast and clear to match the intake. The engine is in the same state I left it last due to a possible deal on a fully forged 355. I see this build really going horribly wrong...

Also, I should be heading out today or tommorow to pick up a near perfect TA Ram Air hood for 100 bucks.

    ...

Do you mean you see your current build going wrong? Or you see the build with the 355 going wrong...

Also, that possible 355... wouldnt happen to be for sale on THIS site would it?

I see my current build as a mild daily driver slowly turning into something more evil and not as friendly. lol

No, it was locally built and laid down really good numbers before the car was parted and sold.

I recently found a 95 TA in a local junk yard and pulled the front bumper and gauge cluster. The greatest part was on the same car was a Borla 3" catback which I scored for a friend for 45 bucks. I also picked up this morning a set of honeycomb taillights w/ TA center. Mostly I've been bored and staring at it or reconditioning hardware and hitting random things with a coat of paint.

The rest of this weekend will be gearing up for this storm coming in. I had to shuffle a few cars around in the driveway and fire up the generator and top everything off with fuel. From all the weather briefings and the conf call I've been on with DEMA, FEMA and the Gov's Office, it looks as if it has us in Delaware dead to rights. Luckily my house is just out the the tidal flooding zone but my parent's house is 100ft from the De Bay.
