that is the biggest load of bullshit ive ever heard.........i run clevite in every motor i build ive NEVER HAD ONE ISSUE.........i run them in my 383 at 8k+ rpm.....never had an issue.....ran them in turbo and blower motors making well in excess off 750hp....never had an issue......lsx's ltx's sbc's and bbc's not one issue not one failure.......dont be afraid of them.....long as the clearances are correct your good to go........half of those horror stories you hear of are from improper build procedures and clearances and of course at the end of the day the blame goes to the bearing ....

I've been doing a lot of research on the net and not seen anything that points a finger towards the manufacturer. So that helps ease my mind. I myself have also used clevite in everything I have built with no bearing issues, but its been 8-10 years since I've done anything for myself. I've built about a dozen or so engines for people and if my memory is right, only one went down and it was because of a oil pump locking up. And it was a used pump, so go figure. My machinist showed me a peeled clevite, and the layers were doing just that, peeling up like a banana. I know its hard to be perfect 100% of the time. I found this link and its full of great info,

Yall don't hold this against me please, its just that I've heard some bad stuff, and don't want to do this again. I too think that a lot of the issues are with builders and not the bearings.

I also noticed today that my bearings are aluminum, not the tri layer. So i don't think I'm gonna be using these anyway. Any opinions on the aluminum bearings?
