Is it common for a knock sensor to go bad? read too sensitive?

so no one else has a issue with false knock being reported? or do you know? unless you datalog you wouldnt know. but if you have false knock it pulls timing and you lose power big time. I swear im about to hack up my car so i can run a regular dizzy and toss the pcm and run somethin better.i dont care for how gm did these cars at all. they didnt give two shits about cost to the consumer for maintenance or reliability. i like fuel injection, but this crap is a joke. i want to run like a 93 5.0 mustang runs not this junk. opti shit

If that is the way you really feel, I'd sell it and get something else. You'll feel better until whatever it is you replace it with starts giving you trouble. You either give up or educate yourself and overcome.

Replace the knock module with a LT4 module they are less sensitive to false knock and almost a must do anyway when running aftermarket roller rockers.

i read something about a resistor mod to make the module less sensitive. I geuss I could tune for it too?
