Uhm some of the fastest cars in the world use nitrous so I don't see how it's a cheat? People mod their cars the way they want, some N/A some with boost some with nitrous. Learn a bit more about racing before deciding that a modification you don't like is a cheat.

yeah they really do. The labor is a pain in the ass but well worth the performance gain and sound. Once you get them installed i guarantee you'll be driving for the next week with your windows down and radio off just to hear the noise

Getting beat by a rich kid does suck. That being said i've stomped a mud hole in many rich kids butts with not only my Trans am but my Srt-4 and the 04 gt i used to have. It's always great to see the looks on their faces when it happens too. And so what if he throws nitrous on a car that is still running 15 year old tech. That hemi has years of r&d behind it of course it's going to be faster right now. My srt-4 has ran a best of 13.42@113.55 with a dog slow 2.37 60ft. Guess what it didn't matter on the highway when i slaughtered an srt-8 charger with a snob for a driver. My old 04 gt ran 12.19@111.88 with a 1.66 60ft on just a 100 shot and when i beat an srt-8 challenger and a 2002 zo6 from stops and rolls neither of those guys even thought that was possible. I laughed all the way home each time. The zo6 owner didn't even care that it had nitrous on it he was just stunned he lost. And if you want a mod list i'll gladly type up exactly what each car had done at the time.

Oh and headers add about 20 rwhp. My TA when it just had a few bolt-ons went from a 13.89@99 (52mm tb,cat-back,k&n filter, lca's, panhard rod) down to 13.30@101 with a 3500 stall and headers then 13.10@101 with dr's cutting a 1.75 60ft. It eventualy went 12.98@103.03 with bolt-ons before then motor blew due to the oil pump drive gear taking a crap on me.

I look at it this way...

His car makes 150hp more than yours and thats all the pavement he could put between the two of you in a race?

I absolutely love the fact these new 400+ hp cars cant roll out on my little 300whp car. What bragging rights do they really have besides a window sticker?

Race the damn car and have fun with it.

I raced one last weekend. My car was running like crap in between 6-8 cylinders. I got him by a car in the 1/4. Tha being said i also have a well built lt1. Xfi 280 cam, built 355 with 12.5-1 compression. 1.6 rr's a4 with 3000 stall and 4.10 gears. Also full boltons with ported and polished stock heads, intake and 52mm holley tb. With the car running right i would've embarrassed him badly. Also have nitto nto5 275/40/17 dr's tha hook very well. Plan on running a 2 stage Nos setup for an upcoming race against my buddies 07 twin turbo z06. Im gonna have my hands full but with the spray i think ill own him in 1/4. I beat him in the 1/8 on just motor but he comes pulling hard. The cam swap should put u out in front and its not a monster cam so hr may not notice a difference. Tell him u had a bad plug after u hand him his ass

I'm not sure you'll beat him. A stock 07 zo6 can pull 10.8's@125-127 stock on slicks. A twin turbo version on a good tune should be able to run 10's on a mild tune and street tires. But after you run him please post up results. Srt-8's have the worst drivetrain lose out of all the pony cars. They're rated at 426 but only actualy put down 360 to the wheels and are retartedly heavy. I think the charger is 4200 the challenger is 4100 and the magnum is 4400. With that kind of weight they'd need another 50-100 hp to really get moving good. And the price is just stupid. 45k new and used srt-8 challengers are still going for 35k. You can get a used 06 zo6 with the same miles for that much.
