    Track runs of my friends cars (impressive!)

    Went to the track last night with some friends. I left my cars at home as the purpose was really to video the evening for some buddies of mine.

    The 3 cars were;

    1995 Z28
    stalled auto
    full bolt ons
    150 shot (did a run N/A and another with the spray)
    stock LT1 (un-touched internally)
    stock suspension (other than no front sway bar, and lower control arms)

    1998 Z28
    stalled auto
    heads/cam/intake
    full bolt ons
    full suspension

    2002 Trans Am WS6
    stalled auto
    full bolt ons
    cam only

    For what little was done to these cars, I was VERY impressed with how they ran.

    Here's the video of the evening;

    If I'd known you were headed up there I would have tried harder to make it. A bunch of guys from an Indy forum were there. They said the track was prepped with 50 gallons of VHT in each lane. One guy with a procharged C5 ran his personal best ever 10.15 @ 139. They also said there were a ton of shitbox rattle traps there that oiled down the track quite a few times.

    The track seemed to hook up for the guys pretty good. But because of one of the blown shitbox's, the right lane was closed early on for the entire evening, and other things breaking made the one lane racing take forever. But for both the Z28's in the vid, this was the best they had ever ran.

    I talked to the C5 Z06 you spoke of. He had learned that his coolant cap had came loose sometime, and his engine temps were above 220! That thing definatly was a fast car, and it had 9's written all over it. It seemed like it was a bit to keep under control though, and he was still learning a bit of track driving with it.

    There was another fast LT1 up there. It was a silver procharged Formula. It was running some fast times as well.

    Jim is the Z06 guy and he posted some in car footage of another night at Muncie. It is a pretty violent looking video. I just spent 20 minutes looking for it but could not find it.

    I wish I would have headed up there. Oh well, there's always next year I guess.
