Kinda depends on what you're running, too. If it's a phosphate bcg and bolt, I'd expect it to be pretty gunky after a couple-3 thousand rounds. Especially if you were shooting cheap steel cased ammo on a DI setup. I notice it on my guns anyway.
Easy way to tell if the system is over-gassed is how the rounds are ejecting. They need to spit out at roughly 5:00 of the gun. If it's getting too much gas- they'll eject forward.

Every thing was brass cases, but bulk stuff none the less. Prob did 2k over the course of three days.

If it's fine after you clean it, I wouldn't be too terribly concerned.
Just watched the video. Nice haha. I've had a lot of fun with that stuff between beaver dams and car doors lol. How much were you shooting?
