An automatic might get away with it but us manual guys are always going to shock the driveline harder and I just don't trust an LS1 DS to take the abuse anymore. The 1LE shaft is also aluminum and is a heavier gauge. If you want aluminum go 1LE. If you want strength, go with a Denny's N20 shaft...at least that's what I did.

i checked out the DS you recommended those were REALLY nice. But at that price i'm going to have to go with balancing mine for now. I need some LT's haha.

Um yeah, all it took was 3K RPM and drag radials for my LS1 DS to give up the ghost. I've got a Strange 3" chromoly DS now and a BMR safety loop.

Look close and you can see bits of the DS flying out...

so if i go get my stockdriveshaft rebalanced, then this should fix the high speed vibration? it starts around 80 mph, granted i have 4.10 gears, its just have a rebuilt bolt on 355 LT1 with a t56 with a stout clutch

There a a few guys that snapped the Ls1 shaft and same with any stock DS. You can not beat the bang for the buck of the LS1 shaft!
There are tons of guys running real fast with a Stock 3" alum DS.
