Thread: HAhahahahahah -- Autozone Employee

    HAhahahahahah -- Autozone Employee

This is sad because I work for AutoZone part time, but this HAD to be posted. Anyone who's bought brake pads from a parts vendor has undoubtedly been offered the "brake parts lubricant" add on package at checkout. This in itself is a good idea because most DIYers out there don't put forth consideration to regreasing their caliper pins. This stuff is also good to put on the back of your pads to keep vibration squeaking down.

So this moron I work with did the brakes on his car, and didn't know where to put this grease. So he puts it on the FACE of his pads!!!!!!! He was telling me this in front of a couple of customers and I literally had to bite my lip and head to the office where I burst out laughing hysterically.

The future does not bode well.

    LMAO!! Wow.. Thats halarious.

I was in an Auto Zone store over the summer and wanted to buy this mothers liquid wax that they usually sell and have in stock there. They usually take their shipments in on sunday, didnt see it on the shelf, so I asked a lady who worked there if they have any of the mothers liquid waxes in stock, and she said no, they only carried regular wax. (There were actually some other liquid waxes on the shelf, but not what I was lookin for). I thought she was joking, but she was actually serious. I'm all like WTF? lol. I tried not to laugh, but it was kinda hard. So another sales rep guy comes over (he is actually very smart and knows what hes talkin about.. I usually talk to this guy when I am there), and he said yes they do but they havent put them on the shelf yet, starts laughing at the lady employee, he goes and grabs a few bottles, asked me what one I wanted, and proceded to put the rest on the shelf.

I thought that was pretty funny.. They only have regular waxes.. lmao.

Ahahaha, good stuff. I like when they ask what engine my DD has, even tho my DD was only offered with one type of engine. I never understood that...

You can't expect them to know what every car model came with. Some of the people working these places are not enthusiasts or gearheads and simply don't know what certain makes/models came with. Can't fault them for that.

    What's your DD btw?

Ok, as soon as I saw under the hood of that car I knew where it was going. That's funny, but complete BS at the same time because whoever that was did nothing more than waste the time of a business.

I'm going to set something straight here. For all those people who think that people who work these parts stores are all morons, I'll say this. If you want your car diagnosed 100%, want to know why it's stalling, won't run, ect, TAKE IT TO A SERVICE FACILITY. AutoZone, Advance, O'Reilly's, Napa, ect are all parts stores, they are not full shops, they do not employ ASE Certified mechanics, they do not do anything more than the most absolute basic of things. Because of that, they do not absolutely need employee's who are engrained into the automotive industry. Sure, it helps, but the computers being used now are quite accurate and enough to get someone who knows NOTHING about working on a car the ability to look up the proper part based on what the customer is needing. If the customer doesn't know what the part is called though, then tough crap, and they shouldn't be working on it in the first place.

So, ever heard of sanding freshly turned rotors before installing them so they will stop better?

Had a friend's dad who SWORE by it... I've never had a problem with freshly turned rotors.

Yea... It was kinda mean, but still funny.. They thought the noise from the procharger was "bad alternator bearings".

That was a sick Camaro too.

yeah, and I also try to remember that my vehicle may not be their strong point.

I mean, I know chevy's pretty well... barely know fords... and couldn't tell you a thing about most imports. So when I ask for a basic or universal part for a SBC.... I just assume maybe the "idiot" is just an import/ford guy.
