Default 9 inch aluminum center section

Buying a Midwest Chassis rear and Eric mentioned a Yukon gear thrubolt centersection as a less expensive option to the strange and moser units. Just wondering if anybody has experience with this unit. Eric did say they haven't used them much and it is a newer product. I don't mind spending the extra money for the others but if the yukon will do the job, i'll spend the money on something else. The power goals are eventual 700-800hp with nitrous on a nitrous/auto car. Maybe a transbrake later.

I was leaning towards alum to save weight. The cost for the yukon alum upgrade is $285. over nodular. I'm buying everything in a package deal w/spool and 3.89's. If the timing works out i may be interested in the susp.pieces in a few months if you still have. just a question, do you think there would be much interest here in my nib gears set 3.73 w/install kit / girdle and fluid. that will give me a little extra cash sooner.

Dont get aluminum you dont need it. And yes someone should eat up that gear kit. have you ever driven a spooled car? How much driving are you planning on doing?

weekend cruise or to track. the only concern i have with the spool is if i want to park in a parking lot. with my eventual power goals my only other consideration would be the wave trac. but thats a big price tag. I plan to be 500-550hp on spray in the spring and 750-800 in 2012

The yukon gear isn't bad. I didn't know they had an aluminum center section. Unless that is the strange or moser center with a yukon gear.

My rear end doesn't have much on it mileage wise. But it is a yukon gear that I set up and I have no complaints. Been in the car two years.

Eric said the center section was a newer product and they hadn't had a chance to personally test it but had used for a couple customer cars. the strange and moser are $215-300 more than yukon thru midwest. I have yukon 3.73 r&p in my impala and they are great, no noise and seem strong. I am always leary about buying something when it is first out. That's why I wanted to put this out there.

Jakesz28 do you have midwest lca &panhard, drag bar. I started a thread wanting to check if anyone had the full rear setup from midwest. If so, how do you like it. This is the route I would like to go, get it from the same place.
